7
L I
At the last meeting of the Council, approval was given to the proposal of Mr. Riff to
annex a portion of property adjacent to the reservoir at the end of Brewster Avenue and
adjacent to Upland Road in the City of'Redhrrood City.
At that time no indication was given as to the matter of fees which have been charged in
the past for these individual small lot annexations. In the past, the City has had
somewhat of a standard policy of charging $150.00 for these annexations as the fair
value of the improvements attributable to the property being annexed, which amount
I
hen just covered the costs incurred by the City in carrying through the legal proceed-
ings for annexation.
Since that time costs of annexation have increased and before we proceed with the
annexation,it will be necessary, so that the applicant will be informed, that we know
the amount which the Council will establish as being attributable to this property.
It should be borne in mind that the actual out-of-pocket expense to the City in
annexing this parcel of land will be in excess of $300.00.
We should appreciate receiving your determination so that we can advise the applicant
for annexation as to what amount he will be expected to pay.
Very truly yours,
Chester W. Lebsack
A
55
The City Attorney reported that he told Mr. Riff that he would be charged $?300 for annexation fee. Councilman Stout
moved approval of the City Attorney's recommendation to charge #300, seconded by Councilman Jones and carried.
COUNTY CLERK REGARDING RECENTLY ADOPTED FOOD ORDINANCE. The Planning Commission also requested that the Council consider budgeting a
sum of $5,000 for such a project in the next fiscal budget, which is the estimated cost of accomplishing the
job. Councilman Britschgi moved that this matter be placed on the City Manager's agenda for budget con -
sideration, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried.
DIVISION OF HIGHWAYS REGARDING CHANGE IN PROCEDURE IN THE SIGNING OF GAS TAX MEHOS OF AGREEMENT. The City Manager reported that
expenditures to date have amounted to $4,711.16. The authorized amount to be spent was $5,000. In the
event that further work is comtemplated it will be necessary'to authorize the expenditure of additional
funds. There is a balance of $6,788.84 remaining in the 1944 Bond Fund.
Councilman Biritschgi stated that the next step to be considered is the building and moving of the dikes.
He was of the opinion that authorization should be given to the City Manager to procure estimates for the
moving of the dikes.
