M <br />money involved.. Motion carried. <br />0.»C. JONES LETTER REGARDING- PARKING LOT CONTRACT.The Clerk read the letter wherein it was stated that after <br />"inspecting the condition of the Parking Lot No. VII job site today, it is their opinion that the area is in <br />an unworkable condition and a satisfactory subgrade cannot be obtained. They are very anxious to resume work <br />and complete it as soon as possible, however, they -feel it would be inadvisable to start operations until <br />r thys have had at least another month of drying weather. They plan to check the site conditions frequently <br />! and start work as soon as all concerned that because of the condition of the soil there wasn't anything <br />else that the contractor could do. There is a crust on top but the soil underneath is till too wet. The <br />letter was filed. <br />RECOMMENDATIONS AND SUGGESTIONS, CITY COUNCIL AND DEPARTMENT HEADS. <br />Councilman Jones stated that there would be a meeting Thursday night, March 8th, in the the Chambers with <br />i <br />Mr. Richard Ives. Urban Development will be under discussion. The public is invited. <br />Councilman Jones asked if the State had been notified in the proposed Charter amendment. City Attorney Currie <br />reported that the State did not have to be notified unless the amendment passess the election. <br />i <br />Councilman Jones asked City Attorney Currie if he had completed contacting property owners adjacent to the <br />Parking Lot #2 in regard to creek covering. The Attorney stated that he has been trying to contact one <br />party but as yet the people have not been in when he has called. He will report next week* <br />YACHT HARBOR COMMITTEE requested the following action: <br />1. The City Manager be authorized to call for bids for the dredging of the Yacht Harbor, plans and <br />specifications for which will be prepared by the City Engineer, providing for a minimum depth of five (5) <br />feet, and an alternate bid for the construction of a retaining levee, award to be made within 60 days of bid <br />opening. <br />2. The City Manager be requested to speed completion of the west levee. <br />f ,9 <br />Councilman Jones moved acceptance of the report and that the City Manager be authorized to proceed, seconded <br />k <br />by Councilman Spillers. This was followed by discussion in regard to the 60 days and what was to take place. <br />l Motion carried. <br />The Clerk read the letter from Robert R. Thompson, Chairman, 1956 Easter Seal Drive, wherein he stated that the <br />Annual Easter Seal Campaign for funds will take place in San Mateo County between March 10th and April 1st <br />of this year. No Council action was taken, however, the newspapers were asked to please make note of the dates, <br />APPOINTMENT TO THE LIBRARY BOARD. Councilman Jones moved reappointment of Mary G. Thorning and William McKeegan <br />to the Library Board for a three year term, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried. <br />PLANNING COMMISSION RECOMMENDED APPROVAL OF THE APPLICATION OF H. PAPAZIAN TO RESUBDIVIDE LOTS 22 TO 244 BLOCK <br />l3, HIGHLANDS OF EMERALD LAKE INTO TWO LOTS, 811 x 128 and 76 x n8 (Piedmont Warr). Councilman Royer moved <br />approval of the Planning Commission's recommendations seconded by Councilman Jones and carried. <br />1 <br />PLANNING COMMISSION RECOMMENDED APPROVAL OF THE APPLICATION OF A. M. CARREIA TO RESUBDIVIDE PORTION OF LOT 8, <br />BLOCK E, WOODSIDE ACRES NO. 1 (15110 Kentfield Avenue) INTO TWO LOTS 75 x 115 subject to: <br />1. Deeding 27' along rear bf lots* <br />2. Driveway to be rack base and plant mix. <br />i - <br />3. Applicant agrees to go along with improvement of Sierra Street <br />4e Owner to pay for sewer lateral. <br />Councilman Spillers moved approval of the Planning Commission's recommendation, seconded by Councilman Jones <br />and carried. <br />PLANNING COMMISSION RECOMMENDED APPROVAL OF M. AARONSON APPLICATION FOR VARIANCE TO ALLOW 5' REAR SET -BACK FOR <br />MEDICAL BUILDING AT 129 ARCH STREET, LOT 10, BLOCK 30 DINGEE PARK, SUBJECT TO LARRY WISE'S APPROVAL OF <br />PARKING LAYOUT, Councilman Jones moved approval of the Planning Commission's recommendation, seconded by <br />Y <br />Councilman Royer.
