General Obligation Bond Report ( 405 -10)
Councilman Greenalch, reported for himself and Councilmen Britschgi and
LaBerge that they had met with staff to discuss a possible bond issue and
that they recommend Council not proceed with a bond issue at this time or
in the foreseeable future for the following reasons:
1. They do not believe it would be possible to get the necessary 2 /3rds
vote to approve a bond issue.
2. They are not organized in terms of running an effective campaign.
There is no Council consensus around the projects which would be
included, and more time would be needed to prepare the bond issue,
involve the citizens, put on an educational campaign and obtain
support for what the money would be appropriated to accomplish.
Reg.Mtg.
2/8/88
MINUTE BOOK NO. 47
Page No. 489
