<br />01/24/2005 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Project will be of benefit to the Project Area and the immediate <br />neighborhood in which the Project is located by increasing the affordable housing stock <br />and provide decent, safe, and sanitary housing in adequate supply and at affordability <br />levels for a wide range of residents from low income to poverty. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF <br />THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY THAT: <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />The Agency finds and determines that the Project will benefit the Project Area by: <br /> <br />(a) <br /> <br />Assisting to revitalize the area with the development of affordable housing <br />to create a livable, higher-density and pedestrian-friendly downtown for <br />the City; <br /> <br />(b) <br /> <br />Eliminating blight in public areas of the Project Area by providing in-fill <br />development on a vacant lot in downtown; <br /> <br />(c) <br /> <br />Achieving an environment reflecting a high level of concern for appropriate <br />architecture and good urban design principles. <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />Authorize the submission of the application for an amount up to $500,000 for San <br />Mateo County (CDBG) funds for the EI Camino 1 Vera Street Workforce Housing <br />project. <br /> <br />3. <br /> <br />Designate Ms. Debbie Jones-Thomas, Housing Coordinator, as the contact <br />person for the Redevelopment Agency of Redwood City. <br /> <br />4. <br /> <br />Direct the Agency Redevelopment Manager or hislher designee to transmit a <br />copy of this Resolution to the County of San Mateo Office of Housing. <br /> <br />* * * <br /> <br />Atty/Reso/Reso.1514 <br />012005 <br /> <br />2 <br /> <br />RD 05-02 <br />Muff # 401 <br />
