MATTERS OF COUNCIL INTEREST <br />1. Councilman Britschgi inquired regarding the addressees of a letter from the <br />Director of General Services relating to water pressure, copies of which were <br />sent to Council. City Manager Smith and Director of Public Works Addiego <br />said that it was sent to Emerald Hill area resident; that most of the area is <br />outside the City; that water pressure problems exist there; and a study is <br />under way which will include how to proceed with any needed improvements. <br />CONSENSUS: Mayor Claire determined it to be the consensus of Council that <br />the subject of providing water to County residents in Emerald Hills be a <br />subject for the Agenda of the anticipated meeting with members of the Board <br />of Supervisors. <br />MEMO 1/27/87 <br />2. Councilwoman LaBerge inquired about the sample agenda from Eugene, Oregon, <br />and Councilman Bury said he had circulated it merely as a matter of possible <br />interest. <br />3. Councilman Greenalch reported that the Herbert Hoover Boys and Girls Club <br />fund raising effort has been successful and the groundbreaking is planned for <br />March 1987. Councilman Greenalch said the Club would like to have an <br />endowment fund for on -going future operation and will be looking to Redwood <br />City residents for assistance. <br />4. Councilman Bury presented a plaque from the Peninsula Oral School for the <br />Deaf given to the Council in appreciation of the City's contribution to the <br />Foundation for Hearing Research. <br />5. Councilman Britschgi thanked Heidi Van Zandt, reporter for the San Mateo <br />Times for her story on the City's excellent fire history. <br />6. Mayor Claire referred to his memorandum to Council of January 21, 1987, <br />suggesting the Agenda for a February meeting include a working session for <br />Council procedures. <br />CONSENSUS: Mayor Claire determined it to be the consensus of Council that <br />the City Council Agenda for February 9, 1987, include under "Matter of <br />Council Interest" City Council procedures and planning process and that other <br />items on that Agenda be limited to those which must be considered on that <br />date. <br />MEMO 1/27/87 <br />---------------------------------------------------------------------------- - - - - -- <br />BOARD, COMMISSION AND COMMITTEE REPORTS <br />None <br />---------------------------------------------------------------------------- - - - - -- <br />Reg.
