Item No. 4 (continued)
Planning Director Patterson presented the subject report and transparencies
of exhibits contained in it. In response to question regarding the Norfolk
Pine specimen tree near Sanchez and whether the developer will be able to
preserve it or will be allowed to replace it with two redwood trees nearby,
Mr. Patterson said that no final plan for an architectural permit has been
filed and at that time the applicant will have to submit plans for
consideration. He added that the Planning Commission had indicated the
replacement would be acceptable, if it is satisfactory to the Park and
Recreation Department. He noted it is not a condition of the proposed
rezoning before Council.
Director of Parks and Recreation Griffiths said that he had not considered
the tree matter, because he would expect to do so when the landscape plan for
the subdivision is submitted.
In further response to question, Mr. Patterson said that residue from the
previous nursery operation is required to be removed and soils investigations
are required.
Mayor Claire declared the public hearing open at 9:25 p.m.
Joseph Brady, 1798 Carleton Court, the developer, reported that he has a
manifest stating all toxics have been removed from the site and that he is
discussing the proposed tree replacement with the Director of Public Works
and Mr. Littlefield of the Parks Department.
Mayor Claire invited anyone else present who wished to speak to do so. No
one wished to speak.
M /S: Britschgi /Stangel to close the public hearing.
Carried unanimously by voice vote and public hearing closed at 9:26 p.m.
Title read.
