Stangel <br />STUDY SESSION <br />ROLL CALL - 7:35 p.m., Vice Mayor Chandler presiding <br />MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />STUDY SESSION <br />Thursday, May 21, 1987 <br />Community Activities Building <br />1400 Roosevelt Avenue <br />Councilmen present: Britschgi, Bury, Chandler, Greenalch, LaBerge, and <br />Mayor Claire (arrived 8:00 p.m.) <br />Councilmen absent: Stangel <br />Officials and staff present: Hildebrand, Pawl oski , Ramchandani , Guardi no, Church, <br />Mar gol is <br />COMMUNITY SURVEY <br />Vice Mayor Chandler announced that the study session is for the purpose of <br />reviewing the community survey relating to projects which might be included in <br />a general obligation bond issue. He introduced Joe Shumate of Joe Shumate & <br />Associates which prepared the survey and Duane Sandul who assisted him, noting <br />that they will present the survey and reply to questions and comment regarding <br />the results. <br />CONSENSUS: Mayor Claire determined it to be the consensus of Council that staff <br />be directed to prepare a report for the June 1, 1987, City Council meeting, if <br />possible, including; <br />1. the estimated costs of items 1., 3., 4., and 5. in the City Manager's <br />report of May 7 (1. Improve stone drains to prevent flooding in the <br />Fifth Avenue Area; 3. Expand and improve child care and recreational <br />facilities at Redwood Shores; 4. Reconstruct Red Morton Center; 5. <br />Remodel the 49ers b u i l d i n g to provide additional space for senior <br />citizens); <br />2. the estimated cost in terms of assessment of property owners on houses <br />with assessed value of $100,000 and $200,000; <br />3. and to ask Joe Shumate to provide the survey results on a geographic <br />basi s. <br />ADJ OURN ME NT <br />ME MO 5 /19 /87 <br />On motion duly made, seconded and carried the City Council adjourned the study <br />session at 9:17 p.m. <br />JACQUELINE C.
