Report re architectural guidelines for new City Hall <br />(1501 -07) <br />Report: Community Development Director 9/25/87 <br />In response to question as to whether the "meeting room" referred to in the <br />subject report is for Council Chambers, City Manager Smith said that it is. <br />In response to question re construction dates, Community Development Director <br />Pawloski said that the design period will take about six to nine months with <br />construction to begin in the latter part of 1988 and completion after 12 to <br />15 months, or in 1989 or 1990. <br />In response to question, Planning Director Patterson said that the proposed <br />architectural committee would include the Chairman of the Planning Commission <br />who is an architect, an architect from Hall Goodhue Haisley & Barker who <br />prepared the Centre Redevelopment Sub-Area Plan and a local architect. Mr. <br />Patterson said that meetings would be held with the public invited to <br />comment. <br />M /S: Britschgi /Greenalch that the Mayor appoint three citizens -at -large as <br />general representatives of the community to the Architectural Committee on <br />the new City Hall and that the Committee is to consist of the three citizens, <br />two Council members, the Chairman of the Planning Commission, an architect <br />from Hall Goodhue Haisley & Barker and an architect from Redwood City. <br />AMENDMENT TO MOTION: Councilman Britschgi, with the consent of his second, <br />agreed to add the amendment proposed by Councilwoman LaBerge that advertising <br />be used to encourage citizens to attend the meetings of the Committee and to <br />comment. <br />The motion as amended carried unanimously by voice vote. <br />MINUTE ORDER NO. 87 -195 <br />Nita Spangler, 970 Edgewood Road, said she was glad to note there would be <br />citizen involvement and asked that there be more than one meeting when public <br />participation is encouraged. <br />---------------------------------------------------------------------------- - - - - -- <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br />M /S: Stangel / Britschgi to waive reading of the Consent Calendar, adopt the <br />resolutions and approve other items. <br />Carried unanimously by roll call vote. <br />MINUTE BOOK NO. 47 <br />Page No. 375 <br />Reg.Mtg. <br />Page 7 <br />9/28/87 <br />
