Report re architectural guidelines for new City Hall (1501 -07) Report: Community Development Director 9/25/87 In response to question as to whether the "meeting room" referred to in the subject report is for Council Chambers, City Manager Smith said that it is. In response to question re construction dates, Community Development Director Pawloski said that the design period will take about six to nine months with construction to begin in the latter part of 1988 and completion after 12 to 15 months, or in 1989 or 1990. In response to question, Planning Director Patterson said that the proposed architectural committee would include the Chairman of the Planning Commission who is an architect, an architect from Hall Goodhue Haisley & Barker who prepared the Centre Redevelopment Sub-Area Plan and a local architect. Mr. Patterson said that meetings would be held with the public invited to comment. M /S: Britschgi /Greenalch that the Mayor appoint three citizens -at -large as general representatives of the community to the Architectural Committee on the new City Hall and that the Committee is to consist of the three citizens, two Council members, the Chairman of the Planning Commission, an architect from Hall Goodhue Haisley & Barker and an architect from Redwood City. AMENDMENT TO MOTION: Councilman Britschgi, with the consent of his second, agreed to add the amendment proposed by Councilwoman LaBerge that advertising be used to encourage citizens to attend the meetings of the Committee and to comment. The motion as amended carried unanimously by voice vote. MINUTE ORDER NO. 87 -195 Nita Spangler, 970 Edgewood Road, said she was glad to note there would be citizen involvement and asked that there be more than one meeting when public participation is encouraged. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- - - - - -- CONSENT CALENDAR M /S: Stangel / Britschgi to waive reading of the Consent Calendar, adopt the resolutions and approve other items.
