<br />EXHIBIT A <br /> <br />KORVE has prepared the following scope for the initial task to provide assistance to the <br />design team in the redevelopment of downtown Redwood City and improve <br />transportation access and circulation. This work is a continuation of KORVE' s previous <br />assignments. In addition to the work elements, a budget estimate is also provided. <br /> <br />1. Transportation Planning for the Future Downtown (including ECR) <br /> <br />Evaluate the Design Philosophy ofEI Camino Real- EI Camino Real needs to <br />serve many transportation functions such as carrying large numbers of vehicles <br />through the city, provide local access, accommodate transit, pedestrian, and <br />bicycles. FTB will provide intensity scenarios for new development in the <br />Downtown and on EI Camino Real. KORVE will detennine will detennine how <br />those increased intensities will impact traffic in the Downtown area, particularly <br />EI Camino Real. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Define function ofEI Camino Real (purpose of corridor) <br />Compare the amount of proposed development with the expected growth <br />in Redwood City (If the two match then a general conclusion is that the <br />growth will occur anyway and concentrating it in downtown where <br />multiple modes are available is the most practicable solution) <br />Detennine appropriate locations for turn lanes, either right turn or left turn <br />Accommodate transit (conceptual only) <br />Accommodate bicycles (conceptual only) <br />Evaluate effect of additional development (traffic study of added demand) <br />Evaluate effects of upstream bottlenecks on effective transportation <br />demand <br />Evaluate ability of parallel corridors to balance capacity <br />Attendance and presentation of findings at one Downtown Precise Plan <br />workshop <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Task 1 Budget: The budget for Task 1 is estimated at $35,000. <br /> <br />1 <br />
