Legislation (information only) - This sub-section involves possible discussion <br />of City Position on Proposed Legislation described in the League of California <br />Cities Priority Focus Bulletin No. 3-2005 and No. 4-2005. Council Member Foust - stated that in December, she and Council Member <br />Hartnett were elected to serve on countywide transportation boards. Council <br />Member Foust was elected to the Transportation Authority as the South County <br />representative and Council Member Hartnett was re-elected and selected as Vice <br />Chair of the SamTrans Board. She proposed that once a month or every other <br />month each of them present to Council a brief update report. <br /> <br />C. Vice Mayor Pierce - stated that a Council representative is needed on the 2020 <br />Peninsula Gateway Corridor Study Policy Advisory Committee that meets on the <br />second Wednesday of the month at 4:00 p.m. Former Council Member Ira <br />Ruskin sat on the committee prior to his leaving office. <br /> <br />9. ADJOURNMENT - 10:00 p.m. <br /> <br />M/S HartnetUBain to adjourn until the next regular City Council meeting of February <br />14, 2005 in honor of Frank Guida who died over the previous weekend. Council <br />Member Hartnett referred to the honoring of Mr. Guida in 2003 with a proclamation in <br />recognition of40 years of service to the city while coaching Pop Warner Football for <br />that entire period of time. Mr. Guida was nationally recognized for his activities, <br />received the bronze star for valor, Purple Heart and P.O.W. medals for service in <br />WWII.
