As part of <br />a reflection process precipitated by the Institute's <br />50th anniversary, the Institute has decided to sim- <br />plify its name to the Institute for Local Government. <br /> <br />The Institute for Local Government is the <br />League's 501 (c) (3) research affiliate. Founded in <br />1955, the Institute's mission is to develop forward- <br />thinking resources to assist local officials in their <br />service to their communities.
