Ralph Nobles, representing Friends of Redwood City grassroots environmental
organization primarily interested in preserving and restoring abandoned and no longer
active salt ponds. He stated that Clyde Morris of the San Francisco Bay Wildlife
Refuge is very interested in addressing the Council or any other public meeting on the
subject of Bair Island. He further stated that the restoration of Bair Island is a very
complex task. The most complex is inner Bair Island, that is very heavily used and has
subsided the most out of the three islands. The Refuge has explored various options
that would be the subject of discussion.

Rudy Luca stated his first issue to be the Senior Center van and is asking about the
status, secondly, the street relamping project and stop signs on Hudson Avenue. Stop
signs that are targeted for the corner of Hudson and Johnson are not as critical as the
need for either stop signs or stoplights at going both north and south at Hudson and
Vera.

Pauline Truscelli reminded Council and the community of Arbor Day, April 27 at the
Veterans Memorial Center and a tree will be planted in honor of Ginny and Pete
Hughes at 2:00 p.m.

Jeff Opfer stated that regarding Item 11A on the agenda, upon the advice from his
attorney with the absence of Council Member Ruskin, respectfully requested
continuance of the item in order to be heard by the full Council.

7. CONSENT CALENDAR

Items on the Consent Calendar are considered to be routine by the City Council and
will be enacted by one motion and one vote. There is no separate discussion of these
items unless a Council Member or Citizen so requests, in which event the item is
removed from the Consent Calendar and considered in its normal sequence on the
agenda.

M/S Howard/ Hartnett to waive reading of the Consent Calendar except the
ordinances by title, adopt the resolutions and the ordinances, and approve other
items. The motion passed by a unanimous roll call vote by those present with Council
Member Ruskin absent.

7.1 Section - Motions

A.
