2. Presentation of proposed Main Library design by Ripley <br />Associates, architects (1401 -03) <br />Considered out of order later in the meeting (See below, page 3) <br />---------------------------------------------------------------------------- - - - - -- <br />ORAL COMMUNICATIONS <br />1. Robert Slusser, 541 Cringle Drive, representing the Redwood Shores <br />Homeowners Association (RSHA) reported many complaints regarding use of <br />firearms in the Redwood Shores area, noting that duck hunters are <br />permitted in a narrow area of the slough, but that there is confusion <br />among the hunters and the residents regarding the permitted areas. Mr. <br />Slusser requested the City assist RSHA in identifying areas where hunting <br />is and is not permitted with signs; in making the hunters, residents and <br />public aware of the locations through clubs, RSHA's "Pilot" and <br />otherwise; and in developing a uniform complaint reporting system <br />regarding firing of guns. He noted the Police Department has been <br />helpful in the matter already. <br />M /S: Stangel /Chandler to refer Mr. Slusser's requests to staff with the <br />City to continue to work with him in solving the problems described. <br />(1002 -01) <br />Carried unanimously by voice vote. MINUTE ORDER NO. 86 -01 <br />---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- <br />GENERAL <br />1. Councilman Rhodes, representative to the South County Refuse District, <br />described efforts of the district to dissolve itself since its work has <br />been completed, reporting that disposition of remaining District funds in <br />the amount of about $275,000 has created some differences of opinion on <br />the District Board and asked for Council guidance. <br />M /S: Chandler /Bury to accept the recommendation of Councilman Rhodes <br />with regard to disposition of the remaining South County Refuse District <br />funds that the funds be deposited in an interest - bearing trust account, <br />with interest distributed annually to member agencies according to an <br />assessed valuation formula, with the trust account to be distributed to <br />members after about ten years to allow for possible claims.
