Consent Calendar (continued) <br />9. In response to questions, Councilman Stangel, representative to South Bayside <br />System Authority (SBSA), stated that members now receive $50.00 per month <br />whether or not they attend meetings, and the part of the proposed change <br />relating to meeting pay is for $75.00 per meeting attended only, with a <br />maximum of $300.00 per month, noting that one meeting a month is usual. <br />In response to question, Assistant City Attorney Case said that the proposed <br />change would result in the State Legislature being able to set the maximum <br />permitted to be paid rather than the member agencies, and discussion followed <br />concerning that loss of control by the City to the State. <br />Title read. Mayor Britschgi reported receiving a telephone call from the Mayor of <br />Foster City requesting consideration be given to reviewing the <br />possibility of constructing a bridge between Redwood City and Foster City <br />and offering to come before Council to discuss the matter. Mayor <br />Britschgi requested Council guidance in responding. <br />City Manager Smith observed that the matter has been considered at some <br />length in the past and studies of the proposed bridge and its effect on <br />traffic have been made. <br />M /S: Rhodes /Chandler that Mayor Britschgi reply to the inquiry of the <br />Mayor of Foster City reporting that the City Council has no interest in <br />considering construction of a bridge between Redwood City and Foster <br />City.
