Item No. 1 (continued) <br />City Attorney Schricker recommended that Council should proceed with the <br />public hearing, noting that Mr. Lelo was present at the meeting of March 3, <br />1986, when he requested the continuance to this date and he has, therefore, <br />received notice in person that the hearing was to be held on the date he <br />requested. <br />Mayor Britschgi declared the public hearing open at 7 :37 p.m. <br />George Woods, 302 Orchard, resident next door to the subject property, <br />objected to the construction of a triplex on that site, because of lack of <br />adequate parking and inadequate setback. <br />Alicia Lomeli, 241 Wheeler, owner of property adjoining the rear of the <br />subject property, said there is inadequate setback in the rear and opposed <br />the construction of a triplex on the site. <br />Guy Barbour, 257 Orchard, said that proposed parking spaces are inadequate <br />for a triplex and urged denial of the appeal. <br />Mayor Britschgi noted the arrival of Mr. Lelo and invited him to speak. <br />Richard Lelo, appellant, resident of 315 Orchard, provided copies of his <br />letter of March 5, 1986, to the Chief Building Official and his letter to <br />Council of March 17, 1986, reporting the status of his construction project. <br />Mr. Lelo said he has no need for a triplex and is withdrawing his appeal. <br />Mayor Britschgi invited anyone else present who wished to speak to do so. <br />No one wished to speak. <br />M /S: Bury /Stangel to close the public hearing. <br />Carried unanimously by voice vote and public hearing closed at 7:55 p.m. <br />M /S: Chandler /Stangel to dismiss the subject appeal at the request of the <br />appellant, Richard Lelo, and to affirm that the opinion of the Zoning <br />Administr at or with respect to the property st ands. <br />AMENDMENT TO MOTION: At the request of Councilman Stangel, Councilman <br />Chandler added to his motion that, further, had the City Council addressed <br />the merits of the subject appeal, the appeal would have been denied. <br />The motion as amended carried unanimously by roll call vote. <br />MINUTE ORDER NO. 86 -58 <br />---------------------------------------------------------------------------- - - - - -- <br />ORAL COMMUNICATIONS <br />Mrs Nita Spangler, 970 Edgewood Road, called attention to newspaper reports that <br />the County of San Mateo is contemplating widening part of Edgewood Road and stated <br />she is opposed to it. Mrs. Spangler said she would favor repairing the portions <br />of the road which need it. She asked Council to go on record with the Board of <br />Supervisors in opposition to the proposed road widening. (1104 -01) <br />Reg.Mtg.
