Item No. 3 (continued) <br />3) that mitigation proposed by the applicant by way of landscaping and <br />design, is insufficient to overcome the deficiencies in design and <br />placement of the building on the lot. <br />The motion carried on the following roll call vote. <br />Ayes: Councilmen Britschgi, Bury, Greenalch <br />Noes: Councilwoman LaBerge and Vice Mayor Chandler <br />MINUTE ORDER NO. 86 -96 <br />---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- <br />(Council recessed from 9:10 to 9:20 p.m. Mayor Claire returned to the Chair and <br />Councilman Bury left at 9:10 p.m. for the rest of the evening.) <br />---------------------------------------------------------------------------- - - - - -- <br />ORAL COMMUNICATIONS <br />None <br />---------------------------------------------------------------------------- - - - - -- <br />BOARD, COMMISSION AND COMMITTEE REPORTS <br />Councilman Britschgi referred to the City Manager's Report of April 4, 1986, <br />relating to Downtown Broadway Mall Maintenance Problems (see Council Minutes <br />4/25/86, Item 11) and suggested a joint study session composed of the City <br />Council, the Planning Commisssion and representatives of the Downtown <br />Association and the Retail Committee of the Chamber of Commerce be scheduled <br />soon for consideration of the report. <br />City Manager Smith stated that the Downtown Association has just discussed <br />the report and has it under consideration. <br />Nita Spangler, 970 Edgewood Road, suggested that the public should be invited <br />to comment on the subject of the Report also. <br />CONSENSUS: Mayor Claire determined it to be the consensus of Council to <br />conduct a joint study session on the City Manager's Report of April 4, 1986, <br />relating to Broadway as recommended by Councilman Britschgi, noting that the <br />meeting will, of course, be public and anyone present will be invited to <br />comment; and that the Mayor is directed to consult with staff and attempt to <br />select a meeting date acceptable to all.
