'7.1- 1 <br /> IIl EPOIl TT°theH°n°rableMay°rand'C'"tyC°unc'llFrom the City Manager <br /> <br /> May 20, 2002 <br /> <br /> Subject <br /> First Step Recycled Water Project - Year 3 Professional Services <br /> <br /> Recommendation <br /> By Motion, authorize Task Order No. 2 to the professional services agreement with <br /> Environmental Water Management (EWM) for additional services related to the "First Step" <br /> Recycled Water Project in Redwood Shores, in the amount of $9,000. <br /> <br /> Background <br /> On January 29, 2001, the City Council authorized an agreement with Environmental Water <br /> Management for professional environmental consulting services related to the planning, <br /> preparation and execution of Year 2 of the "First Step" Recycled Water Project in Redwood <br /> Shores. The not-to-exceed amount for the agreement was $19,940.00. <br /> <br /> On July 23, 2001 the Council approved Task Order No. 1 in the amount of $4,200 to the <br /> professional services agreement with Environmental Water Management for additional <br /> services related to the Water Recycling Feasibility Study. <br /> <br />Year 3 of the "First Step" Recycled Water Project in Redwood Shores which will be <br />implemented this year, will expand the pilot project to include four additional privately <br />owned landscape irrigation sites. Staff recommends retention of Environmental Water <br />Management to provide professional environmental consulting services related to the <br />planning, preparation and execution of these four new connections under Task Order No.2. <br />EWM's principal, Chris Willig, is familiar with Redwood Shores, SBSA, and the City's water <br />system and has become a valuable extension of the First Step Project team. <br /> <br />Staff recommends that the Council approve Task Order No. 2, with a budget of 85 hours <br />and a not-to-exceed value of $9,000.00. <br /> <br />Alternative <br />The Council could reject Task Order No. 2 and direct staff accordingly. <br /> <br />Fiscal Impact <br />Funds are available in the approved FY 2001/2002 Water Enterprise Fund capital <br />improvement program budget, within the Recycled Water System Development project <br /> <br /> / <br /> <br />Manuel Rosas '"' n Ed '~v"~r~l <br />Public Works Superintendent Public Works Services Director City Manager <br /> <br /> <br />
