REPORT
To the Honorable Mayor and City Council
From the (:;it)/Manager

May 20, 2002

Subject
Final Acceptance - Stulsaft Park Restroom Facility Project

Recommendation
Accept the Stulsaft Park Restroom Facility Project, and authorize the release of bonds.

Background
On August 13, 2001, the City Council awarded the construction contract for the Stulsaft
Park Restroom Facility Project to Zolman Construction & Development, Inc. of San
Carlos, California, for an amount of $122,000.

Newly renovated Stulsaft Park has been opened to the citizens since March 2001. Due
to the high numbers of park visitors, the old portable restroom unit became unsuitable
for usage in this major park.

This project installed a new prefabricated restroom facility in the Park. The features
included in the restroom are: standard toilets, wheel chair accessible toilets, lavatory,
urinal, mirror, tissue dispenser, paper towel dispenser, sanitary napkin disposal, and
grab bars.

The total cost of the project was $118,000.00. The construction was inspected by
Assistant Civil Engineer Tonia Tabucchi, and all work was completed in conformance
with the plans and specifications, and to the satisfaction of the City's Engineering &
Construction Services. One Change Order was issued for a credit of $4,000, for the
deletion of a chain link fence, which represents -3% of the total contract.

Fiscal Impacts
Funds in the amount of $200,000.00 are appropriated in the FY 2000-2001 Capital
Improvement Program budget for the Restroom Replacement Program.

C E~' Everett ,~
Senior Civil Engineer ~/A g , Engineering & Construction City Manager

JP/CHU:ss
s/library/repo~ts/chu/Accept_Stulsafl Park Restroom Facility
