IREPORT TotheHonorableMayorandCityCounci, <br /> <br /> From the City Manager~ <br /> <br /> May 20, 2002 <br /> <br /> Subject <br /> Job description for Community Development Services Supervisor classification. <br /> <br /> Recommendation <br />That Council approve by resolution the amended job description for Community <br />Development Services Supervisor to include the Downtown Development Manager <br />function. <br /> <br /> Background <br />In Mamh 2002 the Redevelopment Agency Board amended the 2001-02 Redevelopment <br />budget to include funds for this position. This action is the first step in implementing the <br />Council's directives with regard to the Downtown and the draft Downtown Plan. The <br />Community Development Services Department is in the midst of hiring a Downtown <br />Development Manager and this action to amend the job description is an outcome of the <br />earlier budget decision. <br /> <br />Alternative <br />The alternative would be to leave the current Community Development Services Supervisor <br />job description unchanged, not hire a Downtown Development Manager, and leave the <br />implementation of the Downtown Plan to current City staff. <br /> <br />Fiscal Impact <br />In March 2002 the Redevelopment Agency Board amended the 2001-02 Redevelopment <br />budget to include funds for this position.
