In accordance with the advice of Senior Assistant City Attorney Case, all persons <br />intending to give testimony in Items 5. and 6. relating to proposed nuisance <br />abatements were sworn. <br />---------------------------------------------------------------------------- - - - - -- <br />5. Public Hearing - Proposed abatement of nuisance, 1006 <br />Arguello (702 -11) <br />Report: Chief Building Official and Community Development Director 8/12/86 <br />Affidavits of Mailing and of Posting are on file. <br />In response to questions, Chief Building Official LaTorra said that only the <br />third story of the building is the subject of the proposed nuisance abatement <br />and that the second story is believed not to comply with current ordinances, <br />but that his office has not been able to inspect the building either because <br />of refusal or because the owner has been reported out of the country. Mr. <br />LaTorra said his intention is to obtain an inspection warrant, but he has <br />been attempting to get voluntary compliance from the owner. <br />Mayor Claire declared the public hearing open at 8:09 p.m. and invited anyone <br />present who wished to speak to do so. No one wished to speak. <br />M /S: Greenalch /Stangel to close the public hearing. <br />Carried unanimously by voice vote and public hearing closed at 8:10 p.m. <br />Title read. M /S: Chandler / Greenalch <br />RESOLUTION NO. 10302 CONDEMNING PORTION OF BUILDING AT 1006 ARGUELLO STREET <br />AS A PUBLIC NUISANCE AND DIRECTING RECONSTRUCTION OR REMOVAL THEREOF <br />adopted unanimously by roll call vote. <br />---------------------------------------------------------------------------- - - - - -- <br />6. Public Hearing - Proposed abatement of public nuisance <br />- 3426 and 3466 Rolison Road (702 -11) <br />Report: Chief Building Official and Community Development Director 8/12/86 <br />Affidavits of Mailing and of Posting are on file. <br />It was pointed out that some speakers and persons in the audience do not <br />speak or understand English and that Spanish translators will translate the <br />proceedings so that everyone present will understand what is taking place. <br />Chief Building Official LaTorra presented the subject report, stating that <br />repairs are currently being made and that Building Department staff have been <br />cooperating with the owner to encourage him to do so.
