8.-3
Pub. Res. Code § 21000, et seq.) in order to determine the cumulative
environmental effect of any development of property on Laurel Way.
i. Prior geologic studies of properties fronting on Laurel Way and westerly of
3726 Laurel Way (hereinafter "Affected Area") have detected, among
other matters, downslope soil "creepage," several subsurface water
seepage zones, and the existence of "uncontrolled" landfill in various
locations near the roadway (Geologic Investigation Report, Gribaldo,
Jones and Associates, dated January 26, 1970).
j. The Affected Area is located within the seismically active San Francisco
Bay Area, and is approximately 2.5 miles from the active San Andreas
fault (id.).
k. Evidence of cracking in the roadway within the Affected Area has been
observed, which may indicate downslope earth movement. Pooled water
and other evidence of groundwater seepage have also been observed in
the roadway. Natural surface drainage has been altered by construction
of prior residences along Laurel Way and also by the extension of the
roadway.
I. The steep, uneven terrain affecting the lots in the Affected Area and the
above-described geologic and seismic conditions require, for
development, special attention to prevent landslides and similar adverse
geologic phenomena.
m. The effect of prior development along Laurel Way, including construction
of the houses at 3733 and 3737 Laurel Way, and the partial improvement
Atty/Reso/Reso.1520 4
031005
