Appointment of acting Finance Director <br />City Manager Smith reported that the Public Service Skills organization <br />sponsored by the League of California Cities had furnished names of <br />candidates for employment as Interim Finance Director pending appointment of <br />a permanent finance director. Mr. Smith recommended that Ray 0. Rupert be <br />employed as Interim Finance Director on an hourly basis, noting that Mr. <br />Rupert has many years of experience as Finance Director in California <br />cities. <br />Director of Human Services Irizarry presented a Tentative Selection Process <br />schedule for the Finance Director position, stating that Hughes -Heiss & <br />Associates is being retained to assist in the process and an appointment is <br />anticipated in late December. <br />MOTION: Chandler / Stangel to authorize the City Manager to enter into an <br />agreement with Ray 0.
