Report re pedestrian crossing - Middlefield Road/ Douglas Avenue traffic <br />signal (1104 -03) <br />Report of City Manager and Director of Public Works 10/18/85 <br />M /S: Rhodes / Stangel to proceed with Alternate No. 5 in the subject report <br />involving purchase of a van to transport some of the seniors at the Senior <br />Center to Fair Oaks Community Center at lunchtime. <br />Acting City Manager Finigan reported that Sally Salinas, Director of the <br />Senior Center, has said that no additional van and driver are available to <br />provide transportation for seniors to the lunch program and suggested that a <br />suitable van would cost considerably more than the $10- 12,000 estimated in <br />the subject report. <br />MOTION WITHDRAWN: Councilman Rhodes withdrew his motion in view of the <br />statement of Mrs. Finigan. <br />Councilman Stangel noted for the record that the alternative relating to <br />construction of a raised median to allow pedestrian refuge in the center of <br />the street involves the removal of approximately 15 on- street parking spaces <br />in an area with very limited parking now. <br />Reg.Mtg. <br />10/28/85 MINUTE BOOK NO. 46 <br />Page 5 Page NO. 87 <br />
