Item No. 5 (continued) <br />Rico Cuneo, Chairman, Civic Cultural Commission, commented on the many months <br />of effort in preparation of the Cultural Element, on their goals and what <br />they hope to accomplish, and that he believes adoption of the Element is a <br />major step forward. <br />Susan Swope, member of the Civic Cultural Commission, replied to question by <br />Council regarding the inventory of facilities, and commented on some of the <br />functions and uses of existing facilities, and also on the need for <br />communication as a first step. <br />Vice Mayor Mosher declared the public hearing open at 8:00 p.m. <br />Affidavit of publication of Notice of Hearing reported on file. <br />Jack Greenalch, 870 Seminole, Vice President, Canada College, advised that <br />the President of the College has set as one of his goals the establishment of <br />the College as the cultural center of the Peninsula, and stated that he is <br />strongly in support of a Cultural Element to the General Plan. <br />M /S: Stangel /Bury to close the public hearing. <br />Carried unanimously by voice vote, and public hearing closed at 8:10 p.m. <br />Title read. Bayshore, Palo Alto, spoke on behalf of the <br />Hatfields's, and asked that the issue come before Council as soon as <br />possible. (Note: item relates to construction approval, 3737 Laurel <br />Way and is tentatively scheduled for 11/25/85 Agenda) <br />2) John Scott, 234 Los Gatos Boulevard, Los Gatos, supported the comments of <br />Mr. Maynor.
