Redfem <br /> Redwood General Tire Service <br /> 1630 Broadway <br /> Redwood City, CA 94063 <br /> <br /> File Number: SP-206-02 <br /> Project Location: 1630 Broadway <br /> <br /> Your application for an exception to the sign ordinance to retain an existing 26-foot tall <br /> nonconforming freestanding sign and excessive site signage was reviewed at the meeting of the <br /> Architectural Review Committee on March 12, 2002. <br /> The application was denied on ~larch ]2, 2002 with the fo/lowing findings: <br /> <br /> FTNDZNGS: <br /> 1. Nonconforming pole signs without significant architectural context to the building and site and <br /> without any historical context are amortized according to the newly adopted Sign Ordinance <br /> (scheduled for removal June, 2006). <br /> 2. No exception can be granted to allow the applicant to exceed the total allowable on-site <br /> signage. The existing signage area should be reduced to conform to the Sign Ordinance <br /> (maximum of 225 square feet). <br /> 3. The Sign Ordinance does not allow the display of brand name signage. However, all signs <br /> regulated and required by State and Federal agencies are exempt from the sign area <br /> calculation. <br /> 4. Compliance with the regulations of the new Sign Ordinance will allow the applicant to upgrade <br /> the site's exterior signage to current standards. <br /> <br /> Sign Code Enforcement/Zoning Administrator <br /> <br /> c: Building Division <br /> <br /> If approved, no building or zoning permit shall be issued, and no use shall be established except in <br /> accordance with and subject to the terms and conditions outlined above, and in no case shall such permit <br /> be issued or use established prior to the final action on any appeals that may be fi/ed within the appeal <br /> period. Any appeal made in accordance with the provisions of Section 48.2, Ordinance No. 1130, must be <br /> received by the City Clerk no later than seven calendar days alter the date of the official action. <br /> <br /> (A TT.
