Item No. 10 (continued) <br />MOTION WITHDRAWN: In response to the suggestion that the full Council should <br />be present to make the decision, Councilman Stangel withdrew his motion. <br />Discussion continued concerning deadlines for submitting the City's report to <br />the State and time required for preparation of the audit, Mr. Tasseff noting <br />that the City is now current, with computer problems that created delays <br />apparently solved, so that it should be possible to provide information to <br />the auditor by September 30, making it possible for the auditor to complete <br />work within 30 days, as suggested by Mr. Ira. <br />City Attorney Schricker suggested use of the phrase "not later than" rather <br />than specific dates might be more realistic, since events may occur which <br />affect the audit which are not under control of the City or the auditor. <br />CONSENSUS: Mayor Britschgi determined it to be the consensus of Council to <br />delay consideration of the selection of auditor until February 4, 1985, at <br />which time staff will provide the appropriate documents to reflect the motion <br />and comment made this evening. <br />(MEMO 1/25/85) <br />---------------------------------------------------------------------------- - - - - -- <br />(Council recessed from 9:20 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.) <br />---------------------------------------------------------------------------- - - - - -- <br />11. Narcotic Task Force Report (1004 -01) <br />Police Chief Guardino presented the subject report dated January 16, 1985 and <br />replied to questions relating to the conduct of the Task Force program and <br />the City's contribution to it. <br />Assistant to City Manager Margolis said that the necessary documents have not <br />been prepared pending Council decision on participation in the program, <br />stating that information concerning the balance in the budgeted reserve will <br />be provided, if Council decides to approve participation thereby making a <br />transfer of funds necessary. <br />M /S: Stangel /Rhodes 1) to approve in concept the City's participation in <br />the San Mateo County Narcotic Bureau; 2) to authorize an additional sergeant <br />position to replace the person who will be assigned to the Bureau effective <br />February 1, 1985; and 3) to transfer $25,520 from the unappropriated reserve <br />to the Police Department <br />Carried unanimously by voice vote. <br />MINUTE ORDER NO. 85 -08 <br />12.
