Item No. 8 (continued)
Discussion followed and Mr. Tasseff and City Manager Smith replied to
questions and commented concerning the Council request for the Management
Letter at the 1/21/85 meeting; whether it is desirable to continue with the
same auditors or solicit proposals from several; and notification
requirements to Uhlenberg if proposals are to be solicited.
Title read. M /S: Bury /Chandler
RESOLUTION NO. 9811 APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AGREEMENT FOR
AUDITING SERVICES (C. G. UHLENBERG & CO.)
adopted on the following roll call vote:
Ayes: Councilmen Bury, Chandler, Rhodes, Stangel
Noes: Councilmen Claire, Mosher and Mayor Britschgi
M /S: Bury /Claire to instruct staff to solicit proposals from appropriate
public accounting firms for auditing services for 1985 -86 Fiscal Year with
the present auditor invited to make a proposal also.
CLARIFICATION: Mr. Tasseff said that if the motion carried he would notify
C.H. Uhlenberg at the proper time of the intent to solicit proposals and ask
them to do so at the same time.
The motion carried unanimously by roll call vote.
MINUTE ORDER NO. 85 -22
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
9. Reestablishment of policy re development of property on
Laurel Way
Report of City Manager and Director of Public Works 2/19/85 attaching letter
from John L. Scott of 1/29/85
Director of Public Works Addiego presented the subject report and referred to
a transparency of the Laurel Way neighborhood indicating the property where
John Scott wishes to construct a home. In response to question, Mr. Addiego
said that the unimproved road is in the City but is a private road, never
having been dedicated to the city, noting that previous property owners
protested an assessment district to bring the road up to City standards for
streets, water and sewers, and that, therefore, no building permits have been
issued as a matter of Council policy.
John L. Scott, Los Gatos, owner of property at 3747 Laurel Way, said that he
was not aware when he purchased the property of Council policy with regards
to not issuing building permits for the area, stating he had purchased from
the previous owner rather than through a realtor. Mr. Scott said he was
willing to sign a deferred improvement agreement indicating his willingness
to participate in the cost of the needed improvements at such time as
construction might begin and also that he is willing to contact property
owners to determine if there is any interest in establishing an assessment
district.
Reg.
