Item No. 1 (continued)
City Attorney Schricker referred to his letter to Council of March 1, 1985,
noting that in an eminent domain proceeding it is necessary to consider
certain factors and to evidence determination of a resolution of necessity to
establish the findings set forth in the resolution. Mr. Schricker reported
that he has written to the property owners, Skyline Materials, Inc. and
Skyline Building Materials Company on February 22, 1985 making the offer for
the property required by Government Code Section 7267.2.
City Clerk Hildebrand reported the Affidavit of Mailing notice of the public
hearing to the property owner is on file in her office indicating the mailing
occurred on February 13, 1985.
Director of Public Works Addiego described the reservoir, the reasons for its
location and the purpose for which it is being constructed, noting it is in
the GID 1 -64 program approved by Council. Mr. Addiego presented a
transparency of the Water Storage and Loop System indicating the three water
storage facilities ultimately proposed for the area, stating that the Master
Plan and Development Plan for Redwood Shores requires the water storage
facility. In response to question of Mr. Schricker, Mr. Addiego said that
present water storage facilities are not adequate for the anticipated
build -out of the area according to plan.
Mr. Addiego added that the proposed reservoir site is out of the way of
future development, is aesthetically placed from the point of view of those
working and living in the area and is adjacent to the slough. He added that
it is necessary to acquire the proposed site for construction of water
storage.
Mayor Britschgi declared the public hearing open at 7:43 p.m. and invited
anyone present who wished to speak to do so. No representative of the
property owner or anyone else in the audience wished to speak.
M /S: Stangel /Mosher to close the public hearing.
Carried unanimously by voice vote and public hearing closed at 7:45 p.m.
Title read.
