M /S: Bury /Claire <br />RESOLUTION NO. 9503 AWARDING CONTRACT FOR THE FURNISHING AND INSTALLATION <br />OF ESCALATOR BULLET TRAP; AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AGREEMENT THEREFOR <br />adopted unanimously by roll call vote. <br />14. Withdrawn from Agenda <br />------------------------------------------------------------------------------- - - - - -- <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br />Michael Bursak, 1831 Whipple Avenue, proprietor of a swimming pool maintenance <br />company, stated his objections to the proposed ordinance relating to storage of <br />hazardous materials (Item No. 25) and objected to lack of expert Fire Department <br />inspectors to enforce present laws and the failure of the Department to take advantage <br />of his offer to assist in drafting of the proposed ordinance. Mr. Bursak replied to <br />question concerning potential hazards. <br />City Manager Smith stated that the subject ordinance is being proposed as a result <br />of certain action taken by the State Legislature, noting if the ordinance is not <br />adopted as proposed, the State will take care of enforcement for the City. <br />Director of Fire Services O'Brien commented on Mr. Bursak's remarks, noting that <br />Mr. Bursak does store chlorine outside in a legal manner. Mr. O'Brien observed that <br />representatives of major chemical firms in the City have been notified of the ordinance <br />and have not objected to it. <br />Titles read. M /S: Biagi /Bury to waive reading of the Consent Calendar except the <br />ordinance titles, adopt the ordinances and resolutions and approve all the items. <br />15.
