Charter Street Traffic Signal Report of City Manager and Director of Public Works 2/2/84 Director of Public Works Addiego presented slides of attachments to the subject report and reported Any Mountain Ski Shop's owner has agreed to the alteration to the property, and the owners of businesses with off - street parking favor the proposed changes to improve the traffic flow in the area. Mr. Addiego noted that the City meets 100% of the State traffic signal warrants related to accidents in three areas, with only one area required for the installation of the signal. Joe Chu, 2325 E1 Camino Real, owner of Chu Flowers, representing also Kung Fu Karate School and La Cabana Restaurant, none of which provide any off - street parking, objected to the proposed changes because their customers would be pre- vented from parking on the street in front of their businesses. Discussion followed and Mr. Addiego replied to questions and commented concerning whether any alternatives to the proposed project exist which would satisfy the need to improve the traffic situation in the area, and also permit parking in front of the three businesses without off - street parking places; the needs of those who travel on city streets; and the record of accidents in the area.
