Item No. 4 (continued) <br />Discussion followed and Mr. Addiego replied to questions and commented <br />concerning the cost of opening Willow Street; the possibility of <br />development on the south side of the GEMCO parking lot with coordination <br />of entrance to the lot; acceptable length of a left -turn stacking lane <br />into the lot; and the desire of most businessmen in the affected areas for <br />the improvements recommended to Council. <br />Darrell Morrison, Any Mountain Ltd., ski shop, spoke in favor of <br />installation of a traffic signal at Charter Street, stating that closing <br />the street would cause the approximately 150 cars per day which come to <br />his store to drive through the private lot of GEMCO. Mr. Morrison <br />suggested that safety would be improved and some illegal turns eliminated, <br />if the signal were installed and urged Council to approve it. <br />Owner, United German Motors, 51 Charter Street, said she agrees with the <br />statements made by Mr. Morrison as her business would be similarly <br />affected by closing of the street. <br />Title read.
