10/22/01 <br /> <br /> ORIGINAL <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 2220 <br /> <br /> ORDINANCE APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION <br /> OF AMENDMENT TO AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF <br /> REDWOOD CITY AND THE BOARD OF ADMINISTRATION OF <br /> THE PUBLIC EMPLOYEES' RETIREMENT SYSTEM TO <br /> PROVIDE GOVERNMENT CODE SECTION 20042 (ONE-YEAR <br /> FINAL COMPENSATION) FOR LOCAL MISCELLANEOUS <br /> MEMBERS AND RESCINDING ORDINANCE NO. 2210 <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to the Public Employees' Retirement Law (Govt. C. <br />§20000 et seq.) the City of Redwood City has heretofore entered into an <br />agreement with the Board of Administration of the Public Employees' Retirement <br />System to participate in said System; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, on or about June 25, 2001, the Redwood City City Council <br />adopted Ordinance No. 2210, which became effective on or about July 26, 2001, <br />however, said ordinance was deficient in so far as not meeting a 20-day rule of <br />PERS; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City desires to amend its agreement <br />with said Board of Administration in order to provide for the single highest year of <br />compensation to calculate the retirement benefit relating to the One-Year Final <br />Compensation for local miscellaneous members, pursuant to Government Code <br />Section 20042; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 14255 adopted June 11, 2001, <br />this Council sets forth its intention to approve said amendment; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> <br />F : Atty2001SharedlRedwood/CouncillOrd/Ord-141 1 <br /> <br /> <br />
