Lee & Associates 7/30/84 <br />Letter from Chevron USA, Inc. 7/30/84 <br />(see also Minutes of 7/23/84) <br />Vice Mayor Mosher declared the hearing open at 7:35 p.m. <br />Robert H. Lee, Robert H. Lee & Associates, representing Chevron, stated that <br />his client is now in agreement with the staff recommendation and presented a <br />sketch of the redesign of the subject site. <br />Director of Public Works confirmed that staff and the applicant are in <br />agreement, stating that approval of the request is recommended. <br />Vice Mayor Mosher invited anyone else present who wished to speak to do so. <br />No one wished to speak. <br />M /S: Claire /Rhodes to close the hearing. <br />Carried unanimously by voice vote and hearing closed at 7:40 p.m. <br />M /S: Claire /Stangel to approve the request of Robert H. Lee & Associates for <br />Conditional Variance for a 41 -foot driveway width for Chevron Self- Serve /Mini <br />Market, 2215 El Camino Real subject to the conditions contained in the Report <br />of the City Manager of August 2, 1984, with the finding being made that <br />strict application of +he provisions of Redwood City Code Section 29.19 would <br />create practical difficulty or unnecessary hardships in that the driveway <br />width specified in Section 29.19 would: <br />1) create traffic congestion on El Camino real and enhance the probabilities <br />of rear -end type collisions on the street; <br />2) create blockage of vehicles on the subject premises, likewise enhancing <br />the probability of collision; and <br />3) as a result of the .:)nditions described under (a) and (b) above, would <br />create an unnecessa hardship upon the applicant by ultimately <br />discouraging a use )E-mitted for the property under the Zoning Ordinance. <br />Carried unanimously by —ice vote.
