Public Hearing - Proposed abatement of Public Nuisance, <br />35 Hazel Avenue (702 -11) (continued unopened from <br />10/22/84) <br />Report of City Manager and Chief Building Official 10/10/84 <br />Chief Building Official Malkemus presented the subject report stating the <br />building has been owner - occupied and she has been relocated, but no progress <br />has been made with regard to removal, reconstruction not being economical. <br />Mr. Malkemus said that the City has assisted Mrs. Bobbie V. Garrett, the <br />owner, in finding housing, and she is presently living in a motel with <br />financial assistance from the City. He noted that she is not destitute, but <br />requires assistance now and will receive it up to six months. <br />Councilman Rhodes noted for the record that he has read that Menlo Park has <br />made some arrangement with the County to refurbish an old motel making it <br />possible to provide temporary housing at lower rates for limited periods and <br />asked that the Housing and Human Concerns Committee consider the subject and <br />report to Council. <br />MEMO 11/30/84 <br />Mayor Britschgi declared the public hearing open at 9:55 p.m. and invited <br />anyone present who wished to speak to do so.
