Mayor Britschgi declared the public hearing open at 7:44 p.m. Dimitri Elgin, 55 Perry Street, said that he is not in the area and inquired regarding the status of development. Mr. Elgin was advised that one developer (Innisfree Company) has a nine -month exclusive right to negotiate and is proceeding with studies of the area. Al Davies, E -Z Davies Chevrolet, 1101 E1 Camino Real, said he is concerned about the adequacy of notice received by property owners, suggested the City is accommodating a private investor and that the meeting should be postponed. Mr. Davies also said that he is concerned that the potential for his property will be included in the study by Innisfree Company, although it is not proposed to be in the expanded sub -area. Senior Assistant City Attorney Case described the certified mailing sent to property owners and City. Clerk Hildebrand reported the three dates of publication of the Notice of Hearing. Bob Cook, owner of The Trophy House, 29 James Street, referred to the meeting of property owners, tenants and the City Manager on December 5, 1984, regarding the proposed development of the area and acknowledged receipt of a certified copy of the notice sent to property owners. Mr. Cook said he is interested to know the kind of development proposed for the area and something about the process in a redevelopment area. He was advised that a specific project and timetable are not yet available, but that generally an owner may participate, may sell to the developer at a price agreed upon between them, or may obtain fair market value as determined in an eminent domain proceeding. Mr. Smith said that the intention is to meet with owners and interested tenants when the full market analysis being prepared by Innisfree is available. Mayor Britschgi invited anyone else present who wished to speak to do so. No one else wished to speak. M /S: Chandler /Bury to close the public hearing.
