APPROVAL OF MINUTES - <br />City Council Neighborhood Meeting, February 14, 1983 <br />Budget Study Session, February 26, 1983 <br />Executive Session, February 28, 1983 <br />City Council, February 28, 1983 <br />M /S: Britschgi /Rhodes to approve the subject Minutes as submitted. <br />Carried unanimously by voice vote, Councilman Mosher abstaining from the <br />Minutes of February 14 and Councilman Bury from the City Council Minutes <br />of February 28, 1983. <br />---------------------------------------------------------------------------- - - - - -- <br />ORAL COMMUNICATIONS <br />There being no objection, Mayor Stangel stated that he would grant the <br />request for an oral communication out of order at this time. <br />Bud Dougherty, representative of Local 715, SEW (Service Employees <br />International Union) 541 Middlefield Road, introduced himself and stated <br />he and a represented employee would comment on labor negotiations. <br />Mary Dolezal, Chairperson of Chapter, stated that the union agreed to <br />extend the contract date in expectation of an equitable settlement. She <br />stated that the offer of a 3% increase is not equitable and urged Council <br />to improve the offer to SEIU represented employees. <br />Mr. Dougherty (see above) suggested that sources of funding an increase <br />for SEIU represented employees might be the one -time PERS (Public <br />Employees Retirement System) rebate, deletion of the reconstruction of <br />Roosevelt Avenue project, deletion of the new warehouse project, or from <br />the reserve fund. He requested a more equitable offer by made. <br />---------------------------------------------------------------------------- - - - - -- <br />SPECIAL ORDERS OF THE DAY AND PUBLIC HEARINGS <br />1. Expression of thanks to the community from the family of <br />Patricia Anguiano (301 -03) <br />Councilman Mosher expressed the thanks of the family of Patricia Anguiano <br />for the funds collected and given to them by City employees and by the <br />Redwood City Cares Committee. <br />---------------------------------------------------------------------------- - - - - -- <br />2.
