Her proposal is to allow each <br /> homeowner to decide whether a tree is to be planted 5r not. <br /> <br /> City Manager Everett stated that a letter sent to Council from the Homeowners <br /> Association contained two recommendations: a 6-month moratorium and an appeal <br /> process. He stated that staff agrees with the appeal process and the proposal would <br /> be that for those who want a tree, staff continues forward and those who do not want <br /> a tree notify the City. City Manager Everett stated that letters would be sent on May 21 <br /> notifying residents of the process whereby they can reject the proposed tree planting. <br /> He further stated that staff and the subcommittee for the tree ordinance would re- <br /> energize and return to Council with a recommendation. <br /> <br /> Nina Boire stated that if occurring on June 13, it is possible residents will not be able <br /> to respond in time. She stated her desire for a 6-month moratorium. <br /> <br /> Lisa Eckles recommended contacting some homeowners through the Homeowners <br /> Association to be involved in the appeal process. <br /> <br /> Patricia Dixon, Secretary of Redwood Shores Homeowners Association, stated that <br /> the Association voted to oppose the plan as presented at their meeting and reqbest a <br /> 6 month moratorium. She asked if a telephone call to her could be made so that she <br /> can create signage for residents to be apprised of how to proceed on the issue of an <br /> appeal. <br /> <br />7. CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> Items on the Consent Calendar are considered to be routine by the City Council and <br /> will be enacted by one motion and one vote. There is no separate discussion of these <br /> items Unless a Council Member or Citizen so requests, in which event the item is <br /> removed from the Consent Calendar and considered in its normal sequence on the <br /> agenda. <br /> <br /> M/S Hartnett/Howard to waive reading of the Consent Calendar except the ordinances <br /> by title, adopt the resolutions and the ordinances, and approve other items.
