I REPORT ---- Tothe Honorable Mayor and ?..ity Council From the C,ty Manager June 10, 2002 Subject Acceptance of Grant of Public Service Easement - Maria Socorro Gomez and Antonio Gomez - 504 Alameda de las Pulgas - Engineering File No. 801-05 Recommendation Direct the City Clerk, by motion, to accept on behalf of the City, the Public Service Easement for Maintenance of Storm Drain Facilities offered by Maria Socorro Gomez and Antonio Gomez, current land owners, pursuant to Resolution No. 10944, adopted December 5, 1988; and to record a certified copy of the Resolution and the Grant Deed, in the office of the County Recorder of San Mateo County. Background Maria Socorro Gomez and Antonio Gomez, current owners of Lot 13 Block 1 of Map entitled, "Oak Ridge", recorded in Subdivision Map Book 28, Pages 11&12 - records of San Mateo County, commonly known as 504 Alameda de Las Pulgas, City of Redwood City, are rebuilding a house on this lot. During the design of the house, an existing City 60-inch storm drain pipe and associated facilities have been found along the eastern side of the lot. Existing records indicate that prior to construction of the storm drain pipe and accessories, the easement was not recorded in favor of the City, for maintenance. Maria Socorro Gomez and Antonio Gomez wish to grant the City of Redwood City a perpetual public service easement to maintain, replace, and repair the storm drain facilities on said lot. JLK Associates, consulting engineers, have prepared and submitted the easement grant deed for the storm drain. Staff recommends the acceptance of the grant deed by City Council. Fiscal Impacts There are no fiscal impacts to the City by this action.
