IREPORT TO the Honorable Mayor and City Council <br /> From the City Manager <br /> <br /> June 10, 2002 <br /> <br /> Subject <br /> Approval of Task Order No. 1 for Professional Consulting Services (Bottomley Associates) <br /> for the Bay Front Plan. <br /> <br /> Recommendation <br /> Approve Task Order No. 1 with Bottomley Associates for providing professional consulting <br /> services for the Bay Front Plan, in an amount not to exceed $44,982 and authorize the City <br /> Manager to sign it. <br /> <br /> Background <br /> On June 11, 2001, the City Council approved a contract with Bottomley Associates to begin <br /> work on the Bay Front Plan. The purpose of the Bay Front Plan is to describe detailed <br /> policies for development, open space, and public access for the City's Bay Front area. The <br /> information will help the City evaluate future projects in the area, especially the Marina Shores <br /> Village and Syufy Theatre projects. <br /> <br /> Originally, the City approved a contract for an amount not to exceed $16,600. This amount <br /> initially only covered the "visioning" process and several community meetings. Based on the <br /> comments made at those meetings and further deliberations with staff, the consultant has <br /> prepared the attached scope of work in order to produce a comprehensive and useful <br /> planning document. The new budget for this work is $44,982. <br /> <br /> The attached work schedule ~ndicates that the consultant will have a draft version of the Bay <br /> Front Plan available for Planning Commission and City Council review by mid-summer. The <br /> Plan will be available prior to the formal City review of the Environmental Impact Reports for <br /> both the Marina Shores Village and Syufy Theatre projects. <br /> <br /> Alternatives <br /> 1.
