Twyla Bonham, 1195 Garden, East Palo Alto, Menlo Park Cab Co., reported <br />she has made application for Certificate of Public Convenience and <br />Necessity to operate her taxicab company in Redwood City and that Oliver <br />Nordby has sold his taxicab company, and the new owner is operating <br />without a Certificate. <br />City Manager Smith pointed out that the Certificate is non - exclusive and <br />nontransferable, stating his office will investigate the matter and noting <br />he was not aware of the sale of Mr. Nordby's company. <br />CONSENSUS: Mayor Stangel determined it to be the consensus of Council <br />that staff investigate the status of Ms. Bonham's application and the <br />reported sale of Oliver Nordby's cab company and also to prepare a <br />complete report for Council on the requirements applying to those who wish <br />to conduct a taxicab business in the City. Councilman Bury suggested that greetings be transmitted to Mayor Barbara <br />Mouton and the members of the City Council of the newly incorporated City <br />of East Palo Alto. Mayor Stangel reported he had done so on behalf of <br />Council. <br />2. M /S: Biagi /Mosher to adopt the summer City Council meeting schedule <br />contained in the memorandum of the City Clerk to Council dated 7/8/83 <br />(Schedule is as follows: cancel meetings scheduled for July 18, August 1 <br />and 15; no meeting is scheduled for August 29, a 5th Monday; Labor Day <br />Holiday is September 5; resume regular schedule September 12) <br />Carried unanimously by voice vote. <br />MINUTE ORDER NO. 83 -108 <br />3. Vice Mayor Britschgi reported receiving a copy of a petition relating to <br />closing of Lancaster Street and inquired about it. Lt. Hamilton stated he <br />had received a copy also and would make the response available to those <br />interested. (Not all Council members had received copies of the <br />petition.)
