STRUCTURE FOR ZONING ADMINISTRATION
It was generally agreed that there is no need to change the current procedure for
handling zoning items now considered by the Zoning Administrator, but that it is
desirable that larger commercial items be considered by the Planning Commission
and that the appeal procedure remain as it is, i.e., direct to the City Council.
As a result of suggestion that a committee be set up to study the major kinds of
developments and to confer with those developers, Mayor Stangel appointed
Councilmen Biagi and Claire to serve on the Council committee, with Chairman
Castle to appoint members from the Planning Commission. (memo 10/26//83)
OTHER BUSINESS
The matter of a recommendation by the Public Works Department in 1981 concerning
allocation of a proportionate share of costs to developers for installtion of
traffic signals was raised, and briefly discussed.
Concern was expressed regarding the continuing expansion of County facilities into
many of the new buildings in the City, preventing other good businesses from
coming into town.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 9:50 p.m. on motion by
Councilwoman Mosher, seconded by Commissioner Castle, and unanimously carried.
FRANCES I.
