Award of contract - Senior Center Project <br /> <br />Report of City Manager 1/7/82 <br />Report of Director of Public Works 1/4/82 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AWARDING BID FOR ALTERATIONS TO <br />VETERANS MEMORIAL BUILDING; REJECTING ALL <br />OTHER BIDS RECEIVED; AUTHORIZING EXECUTION <br />OF AGREEMENT FOR SAID WORK; AND DIRECTING <br />RETURN OF SECURITY DEPOSITS <br /> <br />In response to questions, Director of Public <br />Works Addiego advised that the lowest <br />responsible bidder to whom it is proposed the <br />contract be awarded has a good reputation in <br />the County and is well known to him. Mr. <br />Addiego reported that the usual background <br />check also revealed a good reputation for <br />quality construction. <br /> <br />Title read. Council requests to attend meetings, if any <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />GENERAL <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />Councilman Britschgi requested that consideration be given to adding a <br />category to the City Council Agenda for items which Council members may <br />wish to place on the Agenda. <br /> <br />Councilman Britschgi referred to the 1982-83 Tentative Budget Calendar <br />distributed to the Council and inquired about whether a session for <br />half-year reports and consideration of goals and objectives for the next <br />fiscal year has been scheduled. <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />Assistant City Manager Smith advised that the session tentatively set <br />Saturday, February 20, 1982 is intended for that purpose and asked <br />Council members to let him know if that date is convenient. <br /> <br />3. <br /> <br />Councilman Britschgi inquired as to the status of discussion with Home <br />Savings and Loan Company regarding their plans for a new office on <br />Broadway. Mayor Biagi reported that he expects to meet with <br />representatives of Home, the Downtown Merchants and others on January <br />14, noting that Home executives are now well-acquainted with the <br />Council's lack of support for the kind of building planned. <br /> <br />Planning Director Schroeter and City Attorney Schricker commented and <br />replied to questions concerning downtown area zoning in other cities and <br />options which might be available to Council at this time in that regard. <br /> <br />4. <br /> <br />Councilman Britschgi called attention to the fact that a San Carlos <br />developer has named a new subdivision "Edgewood Park" apparently after <br />the neighborhood of the same name in Redwood City. <br /> <br />------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ <br /> <br />Reg.Mtg. <br />1/11/82 <br />Page 3 <br /> <br />,,~q(. <br /> <br />...",...._-'- <br />
