Mayor Biagi announced he would meet with the two members of
the Legislative Committee present (Councilmen Britschgi and Bury) to
review the drafts following the Council meeting.

4.

Councilman Britschgi reported that he and Councilman Bury attended the
park tour held on Saturday, January 16, 1982 by the Park and
Recreation Commission and the Parks and Recreation Department staff
and commended them for the tour.

Councilman Bury and Councilman Britschgi urged that the parking lot at
Hawes Park be repaired as soon as possible as its condition is very
poor.

5.

Councilman Bury reported that members of the VFW (Veterans of Foreign
Wars) are concerned about the availability of the Veterans Memorial
Building during the planned construction of the senior center project.

Assistant City Manager Smith reported that discussions on use of the
building have taken place with VFW representatives.

6.

Councilman Leipzig inquired as to whether there has been enforcement
of the requirement that parking lots be paved and maintained.
Planning Director Schroeter' reported that staff has attempted to
obtain compliance rather than issue citations, and acknowledged
enforcement has not been aggressive.

MIS:

Leipzig/Britschgi to adjourn.

Carried unanimously and Council adjourned at 8:05 p.m.

,~""._..._.....""..~.""-_.,,

JACQUELINE C.
