Peninsula Celebration Association <br />presentation requesting <br /> <br />a. <br /> <br />Approval of the installation of <br />Viet Nam War Memorial <br /> <br />b. <br /> <br />Approval of the proposal to adopt <br />A Company, 1st Battalion, 5th Marine <br />Regiment, 1st Marine Division <br /> <br />ACTION TAKEN (continued) <br /> <br />SPECIAL ORDERS OF THE DAY (continued) <br /> <br />Report of City Manager 3/18/82 <br /> <br />Vincent Rios, 625 Larch, South San Francisco, <br />of Peninsula Celebration Association who is a <br />Viet Nam War Veteran and the Fourth of July <br />Parade Grand Marshall, referred to the <br />Peninsula Celebration Association (PCA) <br />letter of March 16, 1982 and requested <br />approval for a bronze plaque mounted on a <br />granite pedestal to be placed in front of <br />City Hall adjacent to the flagpole to honor <br />Viet Nam Veterans and asked the City Council <br />to "adopt" ,A Company, 1st Battalion, 5th <br />Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division in <br />recognition of their service. <br /> <br />In response to question, Mr. Rios reported <br />that the unit is expected to march in the <br />Fourth of July Parade this year, and it is <br />hoped that the First Marine Division Band <br />will participate also. <br /> <br />MIS: LeipziglRhodes to approve the request <br />of Vincent Rios of Peninsula Celebration <br />Association and to adopt A Company, 1st <br />Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine <br />Division and to place the bronze plaque in <br />front of City Hall. <br /> <br />Carried unanimously by voice vote. <br />MINUTE ORDER NO. 82-40 <br /> <br />Mayor Biagi thanked the PCA for their efforts <br />in arranging recognition of the Viet Nam <br />Veterans and their other work for the <br />community. <br /> <br />------------------------------------------------ ----------------------------------------------- <br /> <br />REPORTS OF BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />REPORTS OF BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS <br /> <br />------------------------------------------------ ----------------------------------------------- <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />REPORTS OF CITY MANAGER <br /> <br />3.
