Presentation by Peninsula New Life Center

Report of City Manager 5/6/82

Rick Howard, Pastor of Peninsula Christian Church and Board member of
Peninsula New Life Center filed "Summary - Peninsula New Life Center
Request for Financial Assistance" and read it. Mr. Howard asked that
considera tion be given to certain fac ts: that homes of prospec tive
residents of the Center would be released to the housing market; that
studies suggest that lives of persons residing in life care centers appear
to be extended some seven years beyond average; that the planned
convalescent care facilities could accommodate non-residents, increasing
the availability of such services in the community; that recreation
programs will be offered for seniors of the entire area, including
rehabilitation of the auditorium seating some 500 persons; and that
planned food service facilities are designed to be greater than required
for the Center so that food service programs could be available to
non-residents. Mr. Howard said he is willing to discuss with Council
representatives the possible use of Center facilities for the community.
He introduced Richard Hiscocks, John Irons, and Stuart Auchincloss to
comment also.

John Irons, Ziegler Securities, Walnut Creek, reported that Crown Research
is doing a marketing study and Arthur Anderson is preparing a financial
feasibility study, both of which are required before securities are
issued.

Reg.
