4. INVOCATION - Pastor Dennis Logie, Sequoia Christian Church <br />5. SPECIAL ORDERS OF THE DAY <br />A. Peninsula Sunrise Rotary — Rotary International Centennial Year <br />Vice Mayor Pierce read the proclamation and presented it to Lorianna Kastrop. <br />B. American Heart Association — "Go Red for Women Month" <br />Vice Mayor Pierce read the proclamation and presented it to a representative of <br />the American Heart Association in place of Tamara Trefz. <br />6. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS AND CONSENT CALENDAR <br />M/S Hartnett/Foust to waive reading of the Consent Calendar except the ordinances <br />by title, adopt the resolutions and the ordinances, and approve other items. The <br />motion passed by a unanimous roll call vote by those present. <br />Romeo Guglielmone, Sr. spoke regarding the City's water closet toilet giveaway <br />program stating that not many needy people showed up for the program. He further <br />stated that there was no offer of an appropriate accommodation for the disabled and <br />that the City should offer people a choice. He also encouraged the program be <br />amended to include documentation that a professional installation occurred. <br />Irene Arejula stated that in 2004 she heard of a woman's housing plight. She stated <br />that she is forced to find a better living situation for herself and is associated with <br />Mateo Lodge, Inc. She further stated that her share of a four person utility bill is <br />$82.05 in January 2005. She stated that working with PG &E's estimate, her share <br />should have been approximately $25.00 according to her calculation of personal use. <br />She stated that her opinion is that there are some shady non - profit organizations <br />working with the City. <br />Council Member Howard requested staff from the Fair Oaks Community Center <br />contact the speaker to provide resource information. <br />M/S Hartnett/Foust to waive reading of the Consent Calendar except the ordinances <br />by title, adopt the resolutions and the ordinances, and approve other items.
