<br />.s. .?'. 8 - £.. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION RESCINDING RESOLUTIONS 12229 AND 12230 <br />PROVIDING FOR EMPLOYER-PAID CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE <br />CALIFORNIA PUBLIC EMPLOYEES RETIREMENT SYSTEM FOR <br />EMPLOYEES OF THE REDWOOD CITY POLICE SERGEANTS <br />ASSOCIATION AND THE REDWOOD CITY POLICE OFFICERS <br />ASSOCIATION <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City is the contracting agency with the <br />California Public Employees Retirement System ("PERS"); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on or about June 28, 1994, the City Council adopted Resolution No. <br />12229 relating to employees of the Redwood City Police Sergeants Association ("PSA") <br />and Resolution No. 12230 relating to employees of the Redwood City Police Officers <br />Association ("POA") which provided a 7% employer-paid contribution into PERS; and' <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in 1999 and 2001, the City entered into negotiations with the POA <br />and PSA, respectively. As a result of said negotiations, it was agreed that the City <br />would no longer provide a 7% employer-paid contribution into PERS and that the <br />employees of the POA and PSA would instead contribute a 9% employee-paid <br />contribution into PERS; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, to be in compliance with PERS rules and regulations the City must <br />rescind Resolution No. 12229 and 12230. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Redwood <br />City as follows: <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />That Resolution No. 12229, "Resolution Providing for Payment of Normal <br />Contributions of All Members of the Public Employees Retirement System within <br />the Group of Employees Represented by Redwood City Police Sergeants <br />Association" adopted June 21, 1994; and Resolution No. 12230 entitled <br />"Resolution Providing for Payment of Normal Contributions of All Members of the <br />Public Employees Retirement System within the Group of Employees <br />Represented by Redwood City Police Officers Association" adopted June 21, <br />1994," are hereby rescinded. <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />This Resolution shall be effective upon the date of its adoption. <br /> <br />* * * <br /> <br />Atty/Reso/Reso.1529 <br />040605 <br />
