<br />EXHIBIT A <br /> <br />PROJECT SERVICES <br /> <br />Pursuant to the Agreement for Services between The San Mateo County Children & Families First Commission and <br />Redwood City/Redwood City 2020 entered onto on July 1, 2002, Contractor shall provide the following services as <br />described more fully in Attachment A, attached hereto and incorporated by reference herein, over the term of this <br />contract from July 1, 2002 to June 30, 2004. <br /> <br />Exhibit A reflects the scope of work for the first year of the contract July 1, 2002 to June 30, 2003. It is understood and <br />agreed that Contractor will submit an updated scope of work for the succeeding year by June 1, 2003, and receive <br />written approval from the Executive Director, after consultation with the Chair of the Commission, prior to commencing <br />the second year provided, however, that there shall be no change in the maximum amount payable under this <br />Agreement. It is anticipated that the scope of work will be amended, with written approval of the Executive Director, <br />upon review of the prior year's progress reports. <br /> <br />Under this grant, Contractor will use service delivery improvement and systems change strategies to: <br /> <br />1. Expand Parenting and Family Support Services - Activities to include: <br /> <br />a) Providing home visiting services to identified families with at least one child 0-5 years of age; <br />b) Developing and implementing a curriculum to teach parents activities they can do at home with their children; <br />c) Developing a plan for improving coordination of services at Garfield School; and <br />d) Developing and implementing a system for identifying families at Adelante and Hawes Schools and linking <br />them to services. <br /> <br />2. Expand Health and Social Services - Activities to include: <br /> <br />a) Developing a program framework for a mental health internship program; and <br />b) Providing supervised mental health services by student mental health interns to identified families with at least <br />one child 0-5 years of age. <br /> <br />3. Strengthen School Capacity - Activities to include: <br /> <br />a) Providing support for school readiness parenUchiid events to connect families with schools; <br />b) Updating and printing kindergarten orientation materials in English and Spanish; <br />c) Involving local child care programs in site activities; <br />d) Hosting kindergarten orientations at all school readiness initiative schools with kindergartens. <br /> <br />Distribution: 1 copy each: Contractor, Commission, Controller <br /> <br />5/28/02 <br /> <br />Page 7 <br />
