<br />DES:~~k 04/12/93 <br /> <br />(063/34) <br /> <br />a RIG I N A L <br /> <br />4/26/93 <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />N O. <br /> <br />11968 <br /> <br />---------- <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING INTER-AGENCY <br />COOPERATIVE PURCHASE OF FURNITURE FOR SUPERVISORY <br />CONTROL AND DATA ACQUISITION WORK AREA - DEPARTMENT OF <br />GENERAL SERVICES <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />City <br /> <br />of <br /> <br />Redwood <br /> <br />City <br /> <br />requires <br /> <br />specialized <br /> <br />furniture which conforms to the Americans with Disabilities Act <br /> <br />and meets other specialized requirements <br /> <br />(the <br /> <br />"Furniture" ) <br /> <br />for <br /> <br />installation <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />use <br /> <br />in <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />Supervisory <br /> <br />Control <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />Data <br /> <br />Acquisition <br /> <br />( " SCADA " ) <br /> <br />work <br /> <br />area <br /> <br />located <br /> <br />in <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />Department <br /> <br />of <br /> <br />General Services; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />said <br /> <br />Department <br /> <br />has <br /> <br />determined <br /> <br />that <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />most <br /> <br />economical method of purchasing the Furniture is pursuant to an <br /> <br />agreement between the County of Santa Clara and Herman Miller, <br /> <br />Inc. <br /> <br />under the provisions of the Redwood City Code authorizing <br /> <br />inter-agency <br /> <br />cooperative <br /> <br />purchases, <br /> <br />upon <br /> <br />a <br /> <br />finding <br /> <br />that <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />County <br /> <br />of <br /> <br />Santa <br /> <br />Clara makes <br /> <br />such <br /> <br />purchases <br /> <br />under <br /> <br />competitive <br /> <br />bidding requirements <br /> <br />substantially equivalent to those of this <br /> <br />City; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />Redwood <br /> <br />City <br /> <br />Code <br /> <br />Section <br /> <br />2.80 <br /> <br />establishes <br /> <br />a <br /> <br />procedure for purchasing materials, equipment or supplies through <br /> <br />bidding procedures implemented by other public agencies; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br /> <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />Pursuant to the provisions of Section 2.80 of the Code <br /> <br />of the City of Redwood City this Council hereby finds: <br /> <br />(a) <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />proposed <br /> <br />purchase <br /> <br />of <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />Furniture <br /> <br />through <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />County <br /> <br />of <br /> <br />Santa <br /> <br />Clara's <br /> <br />facility <br /> <br />purchase <br /> <br />agreement <br /> <br /> <br />.,..._--".......,.,. ..
