Retrofits will occur as each property owner has agreed to convert <br />to recycled water for landscape irrigation and industrial uses. <br /> <br />As the name of this project infers, the work to be done consists of the installation of utility <br />pipes, ducts, and structures within a new berm - also being constructed by this project - <br />across an existing water impoundment within the SBSA property adjacent to Radio Road. <br />The utility pipes include a 24" emergency potable water feed to the recycled water storage <br />tanks, a 36" recycled water transmission main, and electrical power and communication <br />feeds from PG&E and sac to support the now being constructed recycled water facilities. <br /> <br />This project represents the critical connecting elements between above-mentioned major <br />components no. 3 (Storage and Pumping Facilities (under construction», and no. 4 <br />(Distribution System (under design». <br /> <br />The plans and specifications for the construction of the Plans for the construction of SBSA <br />Facilities Project - Connecting Pipelines and Utilities were prepared by Bohley Consulting, <br />Inc. and are at 100% completion. Bid documents have been reviewed and compiled by the <br />project construction manager, the Covello Group. All documents have been rigorously <br />reviewed by staff from Engineering & Construction, Public Works Services, and SBSA. <br />The schedule milestones are: <br />. April 26 - SBSA Commission approval of plans and specifications, call for bids <br />. April 27 - Bid packages available to bidders <br />. May 26 - Bid opening <br />. June 13 - Council considers approval of low bid <br />. June 15- SBSA Commission considers award of contract <br />. Construction will begin in July 2005 and be completed in Oecember 2005. <br /> <br />Alternative . <br />Do not approve engineering plans and specifications titled Redwood City Recycled Water <br />Project, Phase 1, Plans for the construction of SBSA Facilities Project - Connecting <br />Pipelines and Utilities, and do not request that the SBSA Commission approve <br />aforementioned plans and specifications and authorize the call for bids, which would be <br />contrary to prior action. <br /> <br />Fiscal Impact <br />The estimated cost of this project is $455,730, which is consistent with the project cost <br />estimates included in the Water Financing Plan, 2004 Update. The Plan was approved by <br />the City Council on January 24, 2005, concurrent with the Council's authorization to issue <br />Water Revenue Bonds to finance the construction of Phase One of the Recycled Water <br />Project.
